What type of lawyer do I need?
It is a long story, but I will try to give you the main details. I am a legal adult and so is my boyfriend. My family hates him and refuses to let me see him. The last time I tried to go to see him, my parents called the police and had me taken to the police station saying that the reason is "they don’t think it’s safe"!
It is absolutely ridiculous and my boyfriend wants to get me a lawyer immediately because my parents are threatening to do it again if I try to see him.
I just need to know one thing.. What type of lawyer do I need to get? I’ve done research and there are many different types and I’m not sure which one would be best for my situation.

It has become so bad that I have been planning to move out to be with my boyfriend. My parents are acting crazy though and they said they will do whatever they can to keep me here and they won’t let me live with him or near him. It is crazy! I am an adult.

my cuz is getting charge for a violent crime he didn’t commit but his friend did.. his friend is nowhere to be found and they already charge him and sentencehim to 2 years in ny state prison and 2 years probation after he gets out.. the laywer told him even if he didint do it they goign to charge him because they are accusing him and there is no way to prove different if he take it to trial he can get up to10 to 14 years.. so it jsut better to plead out guilty.. for the best.. now he is in jail only 19 and feels he is going crazy because he is in jail for soemthign he didn’t commit.. he can ttake it and he only have 2 months in there.. can he appeal even thought he pleaded guilty?? his lawyer say don’t waste his time .. what kind of lawyer is this??? do anyone know what he should do we dont have any more money for another lawyer?? where should we start to see if he can appeal>….
hi my cuz is not an idiot they say they giving him a choise or the 2 years or trial and in trail he can get up to 10 years or more his lawyer recomended to take the two years that why he did it that he think he will loose the trail.. because the defended pointing him out already saying it was him two of them. so is his word against there words and now that he is doing the defended told me i think is nto ur cuzing the one that hit me it was his friend if you need a notory later i;ll do it .. its to late the lawyer say not even with the letter they will back it up cause he pleade guilty..

by hucklebe- first thing first am not child or wasting my time reading comments like yours..2nd.. you can say the truth hurts because you don’t know what i know and you can’t judge anyone just by the small paragraph. second of all he was not with his friend when it happen.. 3rd you so childish talking about getting in knees this and that maybe is because you been in that situation..so if you dont have nothing positive or normalllll to say just dont write at alllllllllll.
what do i major in to become a criminal lawyer?
I want to become a criminal lawyer.In on year i will be going off to college,I would like to attend howard university because they have on of the best law schools.The problem is i do not know what to major in.Honestly i don’t know what i have to be to become a lawyer.All I think I know is you go to a 4 year college.After that I don’t know if you go to graduate school and get an internship at a law firm,or if you go straight to law school and get a internship or a job.I was also wondering what is the difference between a criminal lawyer,criminal defense lawyer,or which is better.So can you tell me what i should major in or should i double major,what is the different between the two types of lawyers i stated above and which is better,and do or should i go to graduate school and everything else i stated above.Thank you so much i hope i’m not asking for to much!!
Can I refuse to be questioned by Adult protective services?
I don’t have much room so here it goes.
I have considerable reason to believe adult protective services
is accusing me of a crime. Specifically threatening to kill my
mom.
I’ve never been asked if its true and even had the cops called on
me.
I think I have a legal problem and have a right to avoid them even
though they have a job to do. I think I’m obviously the target and
would be a moron to submit to an interview without legal counsel
present. Only one problem. I don’t have a lawyer.
I have checked some things out however I’m not sure.
On one hand I can refuse to talk to them. On the other
they can get a court order.
If I think I’m in real legal trouble, can I refuse to be questioned
or submit to an interview?

How do i go about thinking like a far left winger…?
In the fall I am taking a class called "Conservation of natural resources". The professor teaching it is a lawyer. I heard that even though the material in class seems easy his test are hard and his TA once told this class "Dont pick the right answer pick the best answer". You are allowed a cheat sheet but I heard it doesn’t really help. I also heard someone studied 8 hours for the test and got a 64. Really the only way to do good is to see things the way he sees things.
I was given a speeding ticket in Illinos for doing 91 in A 55. What will happen?
Is this a misdemeanor? Should I hire a lawyer? If the ticket did not say reckless driving (it didn’t) then do I "just" get the speeding ticket, and that’s it? I need some advice on how to best handle this.
I need lawyer advise!!! Child visitation case and father's place not fit.?
I have no lawyer..he does…I have already had a run end with this judge …case is in another county and i do not have a car to a get there so i appeared by phone ..how was a dick to me…it seemed he was biased …..now have to go to court again for final …i guess.. yet father has an expired tag on car and lives in a matchbox house with no heat or air…house is over 100 years old and not up to code…fire hazards…only 2 exits and 1 of them is blocked with boxes, no alarms, mildew throughout home where after a hurricane its roof was not repaired for 2.5 years and mold was not taken care of and my child is borderline asthmatic…faulty wiring in place….also his best friends are harboring a convicted child molester…i have proof…and he doesn’t pay attention to her(the child) when around her…. his cell phone is more important and talking to everyone else instead of making sure she is there( her where abouts)….what I do? what is most important to say to the judge? what if he doesn’t care? Is it to late to recuse him? Please help…this is not a good situation…….one more thing ….he lives 60 miles 1 way from my child home……she has never been away from me nor I her…she is 3…does that matter? and she has never been to his home ..and she has never been alone with him…only supervised visit with me for 6 months ….also, i do not have a car that can get there ( his house)and i don’t know where he even lives…( how to get there.)…help…..lawyers only…please
What if you want to do law your family wants you to do law but you dont have the stones for it?
I really want to be a lawyer this is my passion but I dont have the personality for it. My family wants the best for me (how cliché). The thing is im not a good talker and i get nervous around crowds. However im an exceptional writer getting an A in just about every english or composition class :D how does one go about fulfilling their dreams if they need to start with some sit ups, so to speak??
Is this lawyer trying to trick me?
I’m being sued by State Farm Insurance Co. for an accident that was labelled as my fault. My insurance company provided me with a lawyer. At first, the lawyer said that they agreed on a settlement amount. A month later, she called me and said it was incorrect; the other party was willing to settle for double that amount. I agreed again and haven’t heard anything. She said that the first amount was ‘a miscommunication’. How do I know she is operating in my best interest and not trying to milk me for more money to benefit herself/someone else? What do you think?
My best friend is being put in foster care and my mom is willing to fight for her can we legally take her in?
My bestfriend is being placed in foster care due to domestic abuse and my parents are willing to get a lawyer and take her in but I’m wondering if a friend of the person being placed in foster car can take that person in and how difficult it would be? Thanks!
