Hi I got A question if somebody can help me out with please? I got A bullmastiff It attacked my neibor and his?

dogs. I just got it and hadnt had time to get it, its shots or register it. He walks his dogs everyday I see him. He claims my dog attacked his Weimeraner and german shepherd and him and tried to kill him. I went to a dog hearing (when my dog was taken to quranteen) weeks later and found out Iam being sued at the hearing to see if the dog should be put to sleep or not. He filed reports with police and animal control the day of the attack. I also seen pics of the attack big bite marks on the german shepherd ears and a large laceration on the weimeraners neck. He also claimed my dog tried killing his dogs n him. He got bit all over his left hand and dragged around claiming to protect his neck cuz he said my dog tried going for the neck of the dogs n him. He medical bills came to almost 3000 and he goes to therapy just finished it which total came to 6500 plus the vet bill is 500 so a total of 7000 I never putted the dog on my homeowners insurcance. My son accidently left the side gate open the night b4 the attack. He said he doesnt work cuz the way the economy is. and helps out his family I get the feeling he is just trying to cash in on my homeowners insurance. He got A lawyer on A contingency. Will she sue me for top dollar? Also what kind of factors? His witnesses are school kids cuz they ripped my dog off of him and a adult. Please any detailed helped with greatly be appreciated, Btw this is happening in California btw. There is A leash law which is owners are responsible for there dogs at all times. And by law homeowners is responsible. I dont want my Homeowners insurance to skyrocket. Detailed help would greatly appreciated thanks.

First of all yes they will sue for everything they can because the more money the lawyer gets for their client the more money the lawyer gets because most of the time the contingency is that the lawyer gets 1/3 of the settlement or money. Since their is so much evidence against you and their is a leash law your in trouble. I am not familiar with California law so I don;t know the negligent laws but either way they have a strong case, I would get a lawyer if not your going to be paying a lot. Good Luck
