What did they give you a ticket for, driving without insurance? If that's what it's for and you had at least the liability insurance on a policy of your own (in other words, you didn't just buy the insurance from the rental car company without your own insurance policy on your own vehicles), all you'll need to do is show up for court with your Proof of Insurance card that shows you were insured before the ticket was given and you'll be fine. They should just throw the ticket out.

Now, if you were driving just on the insurance that the rental car company sells you, please keep in mind that it's a whole different ballgame there. Their 'insurance' only covers the physical damage done to that vehicle. It doesn't provide liability insurance, which is what you're legally required to carry when you're driving a motor vehicle. If THAT was the case, you're likely going to have to just eat that ticket and pay the fine. You won't have a legal right to not be responsible for it since you were technically breaking the law.

Best of luck to you!

Really depends on your circumstances at the time of the accident. If you were not to blame, were not under the influence at the time, had other witnesses then I would say you shouldn't have too many problems, but without knowing a lot more it's hard to be able to give advice on this matter.
