Question about autp accident and court issues?
white r asked:
A friend of mine was just in a auto accident recently. What happen was that from what my friend has told me(not present during the accident). The other party driving a mini van with passengers was making a right into a opening in a plaza. The minivan had the blinkers on to make a right and had already had a portion of her car turned. My friend feeling it was safe, pulled out and made a left. The minivan therefore changes her mind and end up t-boning my friends car.
My friends car was damaged on the front driver side. While the other car(the minivan) was damaged in the front of the vehicle. From what i saw both cars where not driveable. My friend contacted the police and after several hours of taking both sides. The police states it was my friends fault due to failure to yield. But it seems like now the other party wants to sue my friend. She has spoken with a lawyer for the ticket and the insurance company about the car. What are your guys advices on what my friend should do from her
I just want to know some opinion. Due to i feel like the other party just wants to seek extra money for a auto accident that they walked away fine from. But one of the passengers of the minivan did say she was a bit sore.

I’m worried for my friends due to her parents and her don’t have a lot of money at all an don’t want them to be dragged into a lawsuit that seems kinda fishy.
Also the car title is no under my friends name but, she is over the age of 18.

Your friend should tell the adjuster what happened and cooperate in the investigation and defense of the matter.
Here’s the reality of the situation…..the other driver is not going to admit to putting on a right signal….starting a right turn and then changing her mind. The other driver’s story will be ….”I was driving down the road and the other car turned in front of me.”
If the other person or their attorney calls your friend…..tell your friend to refer them to the insurance adjuster that is handling the claim for your friends insurance company. Give them the adjusters name, phone number and claim number.
Your friend is at fault. Both your friend, and the owner of the vehicle, can be sued for damages.
