Accident, car insurance and lawyer question….need advice.?
I was in an auto accident where the other was found liable. I have a lawyer and he sent out a demand letter & the adjuster came back ,500 but my laywer said no and demanded policy limit of ,000. Today he sent out something about suing the estate (the man who hit me died in the accident) so he can’t be sued and no one has his estate, it’s in the county’s hands. my laywer said he had to publish this in the newspaper in case someone comes forward to claim the estate. He is hoping this will push the adjuster to give the limit and if not he will take it to trial. I really don’t understand what all this means and when I ask my laywer I don’t understand him either and I hate to keep asking him. Can someone break this down and tell me what is going on here. Thank you.

Should I get a lawyer for a car accident??
I was invovled in a car accident July 13th and This elderly lady hit me, she t-boned me. So of course i got to calling her insurance place and they were "investigating" so they called me back; by the way, its going to cost me 1500 to fix my car. so they only want to offer me 1200, but i hurt my back in the accident and i have medical records to prove it. The cops also put her at fault, but she didnt get ticketed AND her insurance is pretty much saying its 20% my fault??? HELP…-Confused
Car accident, should we consult a lawyer?
Should we consult an attorney about a car accident my husband was recently involved in to make sure we get the max amount we deserve? I’ll try and give you as much details about the accident as possible.
What happened: My husband was driving home from work when 2 cars came to a stop in front of him, he stopped about 1 1/2 car lengths behind them as they were waiting to turn left, about 3 seconds later a large SUV rear-ended him dead on pushing him into the van in front of him and totaling our car. He went to the ER right away but haven’t gotten the x-rays back yet. We won’t get the police report for a few more days still but it was DEFINITELY the woman’s fault. My husband is under DR’s orders to take off 1 week, and then light duty for 1 week (possibly longer after we find out the results of the x-rays), he is feeling anxious because of missing work and we have no savings so we’re stressed about bills, we have a 5 month old and he cannot help me at home, and is afraid to drive now.
Oh yes and my husband drives for a living so him being afraid of getting into another accident is taking a toll on his work performance capacity.
Mainly we want the woman (or her insurance company) to pay: the remainder of our loan, my husband’s present and future medical bills regarding these injuries, lost wages, loss of ability to provide household serivces, loss of use of property (ie the car), pain and suffering (for his physical pain, mental suffering, and emotional distress), a rental car that is comparable to our totaled car until this is settled.
Also we know that the woman has insurance and it is up to date as we have already contacted her insurance as well as ours about this accident.
So do I have a case, should we get a lawyer?
our insurance co offered us about 14k for the car, but we owe about 16k on our loan as we’ve not had this car not even 2 months. When we purchased the car we didn’t get GAP so there is around 2k that will be left on the loan if we accept this.
he was at a dead stop and the woman was going 55mph when she hit him, that is why he was pushed so far. The police officer walked the skid marks from our car and he was pushed 10 feet (I guess that’s about 1 1/2 cars length right?)

and yes I am telling 100% of the truth, I feel bad for the women who hit him as she seemed very upset but we are newly married with a young baby and had worked hard for our car and life only to have it jeopardized by this womans negligence!

Can someone please link me to some information about car accidents involving and blocking of paths.
I had a car accident where a woman pulled over to the other side of the road and then turned sharply across my path.
The insurance still hasn’t been sorted after nearly 9 months.
Does anyone have any information about any previous accidents like this so I can, once and for all, prove to my lawyer that it is not my fault.
PS – don’t go with Tesco insurance – their lawyers are monkeys.

I need help with my car accident, does my lawyer know what hes doing?
I was hit almost 2 years ago in california. I got an attorney since it was the 2nd person who hit me in 2 months, yeah I know. Well since then I have not received a dime from either accident and now my attorney’s new assistant calls and asks for the address of the person who hit me. Shouldn’t he have this info already after I gave it to them 2 years ago and has insurance info?? The attorney want to serve the person who hit me. Why are we going to court when insurance co. is suppose to pay? Then I found out that the person they are trying to serve is a man and not a woman, but it was a woman who hit me. The assistant said he may be the owner of the vehicle. She didn’t have any more info to give me and I told her that she better call me back soon with the info as to what the hell is going on.
I didnt get a call back today and now I have all weekend to think about whether or not I have to take care of all the medical bills from my accident. I’ve been on this attorney for a while, he freaked out on me once after I called so many time for updates and told me with a horrible tone that these things take time and cases can take up to 2 years and that calling him all the time isn’t going to help.
Has anyone had this happen to them or any idea as to what may have happened? I’m having a nervous breakdown and hate my attorney

If you get in a car accident, should you get a lawyer?
My partner was involved in an accident with a dump truck. This happened a month ago and there still hasn’t been anything done. She still has no rental car, no check for a new car (hers was totalled), no compensation what so ever. She doesn’t really have any injuries, and that isn’t the concern. Should we get a lawyer to help us? The first question they always ask is about injuries. Do they help if there aren’t any??? She is calling daily (multiple times a day) and is still getting NO where. We need this situation taken care of. Legally, what can be done?
Ok, I guess I left out some info…
My partner was not found to be at fault. The police officer found the other driver to be at fault. The police were called right away, and the insurance company was called right away. Her insurance company is doing nothing! Regular calls are made to Allstate (her insurance) and they keep telling her they are waiting on the other insurance company. She doesn’t have collision coverage because her car is older, paid off, and she didn’t worry about. So, her insurance doesn’t cover her rental car. She is being told they have to wait to see if the other insurance company is going to cover it. Finally after 3 weeks of making calls and getting no where, we finally get a call that the claim was JUST filed with the other company. We have been calling for 3 weeks to her insurance and they just kept telling us everything had been filed, and that they were just waiting. She did go to the doctor right away. (within 24 hours)
Also, within the past week we have been in touch with the other persons insurance company. Still getting NO WHERE.

Ok so I met with my lawyer once who said send him all the bills…he never said anything about paying them he just said send them directly to him..well today I got a letter from collections..I assumed he would take care of bills are something..help?? is this normal?

I was rearended on a Highway when traffic was forced to stop because of trash that was thrown in the middle of the road. "troubled" kids were out picking up trash and one of said kids took a bag and deliberately threw it in the middle of traffic traveling 65 mph! (police issued said kid a ticket for causing the accident!)
The full size van behind me was unable to stop in time and smashed into me from behind which sent me flying 75 plus feet across another lane of traffic and into a ditch. Totalled my car, I am in extreme discomfort and unable to sleep. Constantly picturing the van in my rear view as I very easily could have died if more traffic had been around. I’m fully insured, as is the driver of the van; and my company said they will handle the claim for me and get me reimbursed for everything… would I have better luck with a lawyer, obviously I want to get all that I’m entitled to and make sure the kids aren’t able to do something like this again. Suggestions?
I wonder if there is some sort of program that should have been supervising the kids… should they be help responsible or the kids themselves… probably won’t see a dime from troubled kids’ parents.
If it was a non-profit organization, of course I wouldn’t pursue that, hopefully they realize what could have happened and make appropriate changes. However, if it was state run and they had BAD kids in that sort of position I would want a lawsuit just to get that changed! Bad kids making bad choices shouldn’t be anywhere near 65 mph + traffic for their own safety, let alone the damage that coul dbe caused. And hey, the crap head who couldn’t stop in time is raising YOUR rates and MINE. Now maybe my greedy self can get some of your tax dollars too….
If you know it wasnt your fault in a car accident would you go to a lawyer?
why do you think lawyers tells you to call them only if it wasnt your fault 99.999999%- because they know they will get paid good money, so why call them when you know its not your fault and you will get your money from the insurance company, I think its only if you want to share your money with them
I mean if you have proof (police, witnesses, ect…) that it wasnt your fault if some of you dont get it
