How do I report a dog bite?
My son was bit by a dog while riding by on his scooter during "skate night" at church. It bit through his jeans and made 4 puncture wounds. We took him to the E.R. and they had me fill out a report for animal control but I got a phone call Friday from animal control saying they didn’t have a report on file for this incident. My lawyer requested their records of it and now they don’t have one supposedly. Is it to late to file again? And if not, how do I file? Where do I go?
right…does anyone know how to contact animal control??? lol
Neighbor's small dog bit me and my husband. Who covers our medical bills?
My neighbor’s dog bit me and my husband when it squeezed through my iron gated yard and started fighting with my medium size dog. We had to pull the dogs apart, but in the process it bit me and my husband (broke the skin on our fingers and started bleeding). We found out from the dog’s owner (who spoke only Spanish) that the dog was never vaccinated, so we went to the emergency room to have the wounds cleaned out and get any shots. We filed a dog bite complaint form that went to animal control. We also paid upfront for the care, but ended up getting another bill 3 months later that brought the total up to 0. I found out later that we could ask the owner for their home insurance info to cover the medical bill, but I also found out that the actual owner of the dog was renting part of the home. I think the actual owner of the home is a little old lady who lives on the property, but rents out most of her home just to make mortgage. I figure 0 is not enough to hire a lawyer over, but it’s money out of my pocket that I don’t really have. I also figure the renter doesn’t have money or insurance to cover for the dog bite because there’s like 8 people crammed into the garage they’re living out of. Can I still go after the home owner or renter? If so how do I go about it especially with the language barrier with the renter?
Here’s some additional information that might help:
- The dog has bitten other people before, including the children of the dog owner who told my husband that they have been bitten by the dog before too. Furthermore the dog would just run around the neighborhood biting people and pissing off other dogs.
- Animal Control came by the neighbor’s house and told them the dog needs to be quarantined to the house and not allowed to run the neighborhood.

How should I start off my novel?
It’s a story about this teenageer named Robert who finds out his sister is a vampire, and that their real mother and father where vampires as well, but where hunted and killed by a supernatural hunters klan, after they meet he meets a boy named Oliver in the woods. He tries to ignore all this untill he wakes up one morning when his skin starts to peel off and become pale, and he sees that he has grown a pair of fangs two centimeters long over night. He is in love with this girl named Courtney Stephens, who finds him rather unusual. He and Courtney become friends, but Courtney dosen’t release his secret,because he keeps on shaving down his fangs. He keeps on having nightmares about things happening to Oliver, his sister, and Courtney, "mostly Courtney". He dreams stuff like his siter being torchered, Oliver and him being chased by wolves, and Courtney being attacked and bitten by a rouge vampire, who turns out to be him. Eventualy, Courtney finds out he’s a vampire after he saves her from a pack of coyotes during nightime. Courtney becomes terrified of Robert and runs away from him. Robert chases after her and ends up nearly killing her. Robert realizes this, sees how terrified Courtney is and runs away. Courtney is to terrified to go back to school the next day, but finds out Robert hasn’t been seen, and seems to have ran away. Courtney goes to school, and is eventually calmed down by a mysterious boy is her school during passing period. The boy tells Courtney that he would keep her safe from Robert, and they form a relationship. Robert been hiding in the woods, he had killed a park hiker, which caused much chaos. This was reported in the local news as an attack by an unidintified animal. Many hunters had gone after Robert, but all had been reported to have disspaeared. Only one of the bodies was recovered, and had four bite marks on his neck and was shriveled up, dry of blood. Robert’s sister finds out about this during lunch at school, and wonders something is terribly wrong with Robert. She, too, is a vampire, but she had never killed anybody. She never needed blood, mostly because she was a hybrid, like his brother was suppose to be. She chases after Robert in the woods, and actually flew there after police wouldn’t let her enter the forest. She finds Robert, and finds out what happened between him and Courtney. She calms down Robert, and passes him through the police as a victim who was attacked by the animal in the woods. The police ask him how he survived, Robert just says that he just hopes no more angry villagers hunt the monster down. Robert explains to Courtney after he is seen outside the window of Courtney’s room, in a tree during a lightning storm. Courtney still dosen’t feel safe around him, but Robert, but he calms her down and explains what happened. Courtney sees the boy from school behind Robert, crawling through the window with a club. He strikes Robert down and runs off with Courtney. The boy turns out to be from the same klan that had killed his parents, and uses Courtney as bait. Robert, his sister, and Oliver chase after the boy. Courtney is locked up in chains, in what’s like a shark cage, or "vampire cage". Robert’s sister and Oliver battle the klan member. Robert frees Courtney, simply by ripping the chains and opening the cage by benfing the bars and making holes in the chain link. The klan member throws Oliver against a tree and knocks Robert’s sister to the ground, ready to stab her in the heart… with a stake. Robert turns to the klan meber, snatches his sister’s hatchet from the ground and chops him in the head with it. Courtney, Robert, his sister, and Oliver run away to town. Courtney and Robert create a strong relation ship, and become more than friends, or in other words, boyfriend and girlfriend. No much diffrent could be told for Sussan, "Robert’s sister", and Oliver. The end. But how should I start it off?

No, I didn’t get the name Oliver, and the fact that he’s a vampire, from the Oliver Nocturne series. I came up with the vampire part, I named Oliver after Charles Dickens’s book, Oliver Twiste.

What should I do about a hostile neighbor?
This is a bit of a long story but hopefully someone out there can offer some advise.
I live in a small town to which we moved just over a year ago. I purchased my small home and live in the middle of the street with neighbors who own houses to my left and two rental houses to my right.
My immediate neighbor on my right is just great, but the one next to him on the corner lot is a complete loser. The other day I was on the front street with my small six pound puppy, who was on his leash. I had just returned from errands in my car and had the dog with me. I went to speak with my immediate next door neighbors wife who was out front watching her children play on the street. After speaking for a few minutes I walked away heading with my little dog on his leash toward my home.
The corner neighbor (Mr. A) had not closed his gate and his Rottweiller dog charged at me from behind and jumped to attack my little dog. I had seen him as I glanced over my left shoulder which allowed me time to scoop my dog from the ground to my arms. The Rotweiller while trying to attatck my dog managed to bite me fully on the stomach as I held my small animal away and in the air to save him from being mauled or killed. My dog was yelping in fear and squirmed from my arms falling to the ground in front of me where the Rotty tried to clamp down on him but not before I dove down and body checked the animal and grabbed it by its collar to restrain it. After doing this the wife came out to the front to see what the screaming and shouting was about and took her animal. The good neighbors wife had picked up my puppy and purse and took them to my house.
My dog was injured and needed to be examined by a vet, and I went to the hospital to have my wounds examined. The wife of this neighbor Mr. A came to my home after the event and apologized and said she took responsability and would pay the vet bills. I contacted the police and the SPCA and filed a report, but because I want to recover the 0 in vet fees I did not have them deal with it (a ticket for having an animal at large). I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, and allow them to make restitution.
This evening my mother and son were walking our dog on leash and walked past their home, on the opposite side of the street when Mr. A became verbally aggressive and started yelling that they should not walk our dog outside (this is on the other side of the road) . He was yelling and swearing and my mother (elderly) returned and told me.
I went outside and his wife was walking up the street returning home from work. I spoke to her and asked that she tell her husband not to yelll at my mother, if he has a problem to come and talk to me. He then stuck his head out the door and again became verbally aggressive accusing us of shining a flashlight in their living room window as we go by (we don’t shine it anywhere near their window and have taken to using a flashlight at night since the surprise attack by his dog). He then stated that our dog crapped on his lawn (he didn’t, and we always pick up and expect others to do the same), he then went on to say that we shouldn’t stand with our leashed dog on the corner of the road because it causes their dog to bark, and that I can wish on if I think they are paying our vet bill. I replied to him that was fine because he could count then on seeing me in court. I was after all bitten in the stomache and have wittnesses and photos to prove it. As well as my small dog having suffered deep tissue injury as a result of their negligence.
This is a really nasty situation and it appears I am not dealing with a rational person. I believe that town streets are free for all to walk on and that my dog who is leashed, licensed and in control has every right to walk whereever he wants with us, as long as we aren’t on their rental property?
This guy is going to make my life miserable since I expect them to chain their animal (one of two large dogs) and pay the damages we suffered. How should I deal with any future abuse from Mr. A? Do I need to tell the police, they already have taken the report on the initial attack on me from their Rottweiller. I don’t want anymore hassles from them and want to be able to walk freely with my dog in our neighborhood without fear of attack or verbal aggression.

He filed reports with police and animal control the day of the attack. I also seen pics of the attack big bite marks on the german shepherd ears and a large laceration on the weimeraners neck. He also claimed my dog tried killing his dogs n him. He got bit all over his left hand and dragged around claiming to protect his neck cuz he said my dog tried going for the neck of the dogs n him. He medical bills came to almost 3000 and he goes to therapy just finished it which total came to 6500 plus the vet bill is 500 so a total of 7000 I never putted the dog on my homeowners insurcance. My son accidently left the side gate open the night b4 the attack. He said he doesnt work cuz the way the economy is. and helps out his family I get the feeling he is just trying to cash in on my homeowners insurance. He got A lawyer on A contingency. Will she sue me for top dollar? Also what kind of factors? His witnesses are school kids cuz they ripped my dog off of him and a adult. Please any detailed helped with greatly be appreciated, Btw this is happening in California btw. There is A leash law which is owners are responsible for there dogs at all times. My dog was attacked by the neighbors dog?
I have a question? I have a metal door underneath there is a 3 inch gap. My four month old puppy likes to lay down by the fence. In the afternoon my neighbors dog got loose and got the puppies paw. So the dog tried to pull out the puppy out of my yard. In the process my other neighbors saw the dog biting my dog multiple times. So my neighbors helped my puppies by hitting the other dog. I rushed to a animal hospital. I live in San Bernardino County in California what are the laws about my neighbor does my neighbor have to pay for the bills because he doesn’t want. Should I contact a lawyer what should I do.
3 year old bit by dog?
My daughter was playing outside and a neighbors dog jumped on her and dropped her on her back and continued to bite her on her arm. My husband grabbed the dog and tossed it. The dog then went to the neighbors front yard where their 2 year old daughter was playing and knocked the child on the cement on her face, busted her lip and gums and bruised her left side of her face. I called the police and the dog was trying to attack both the police and fireman. They finally got ahold of the dog and animal control took it. We found out the dog lives 3 homes down and the people let there dog outside to roam when they are not home. They left a ticket on the front door and the people are still not home. I think this person should be held responsible. I am really considering contacting a lawyer. Any suggestions? The police took several pictures and did a report.
I called her Dr. and we have an appt. on monday. The Dr. called in a perscription for antibotics to be sure that it doesn’t get infected.
Can a police officer come onto your property and shoot your dog while he is inside his fence?
So the new cop of the small town i live in came into my yard and shot my dog in the shed which was inside of his electric fence, also where his food and water was stored….
Here’s the whole story that I know of (the cop told a different story to my sister and I so here is the version of what he gave me with the statements I’ve gathered from other people) I need to know if anyone know of anyone to get a hold of to get something done, so please comment with any info.
The officer told me that my dog was fighting with a pit bull (which is not legal to be inside of city limits) in my driveway. He chased the pit bull away, and it went to it’s home which is outside of city limits so the pit bull was no longer his problem. Instead he chased my dog around the yard, left and got people to come into my yard to help him. He told me that the dog bit him in the foot through his boot, then informed me that the dog actually bit him on the right ankle but did not break the skin so he couldn’t produce any proof. He told my sister that the dog went under my back porch, and it bit him in the hand when he was trying to drag it out from under the porch. However, he clamied was only bit once, he’s just undecided about where it actually bit him.
My dog was injured from the pit bull, he has a shock collar, and in the back yard is his fence. From the statments of witnesses I have, no one was able to get close enough to the dog because he was injured and scared and they were on the dogs property which he feels obligated to protect, so he was growling at them. (a few of the people he told me that could witness the dog biting him told me that the cop told them that the dog bit him but they did not see it.) Long story short they shot him close blank range in the head with a shot gun, in my back yard in the shed where his food and water is inside of the fence line. The alderman that my oldest sister called told her that the cop told him he tried to contact both owners of the dog (we were at work) before he shot the dog. I offered to have my phone records pulled to prove I never received a call. There were 2 people on the property that had my cell phone number. The cop brought his wife, a teenager and another city worker onto my property. When he went to get the teenager he said "I need you to witness me shooting a dog." If he had witnesses to the dog biting him, he had already planned to shoot the dog before it supposidly bit him.
Now, the dog was out of the fence line when they were in the drive way, but he was still on my property. The officer told my sister that the dog was 2 blocks away….either way he would have shot the dog off of my property it would be a totally different story, but the fact that it was shot on my property in my shed inside its fence line.,…there should be something I can do about that right?
On top of that I called the officer to return my dog so that I could burry it, when he met me 45 minutes later than he said he would, I asked him to hold on a minute so I could get the kids away and he didn’t, he dropped the dog right in front of them.
I contacted the animal rights people, the highway patrol and the sheriffs department. The deputy came and took my statement and pictures, but is not sure what all they can do because the prosecuting attorney is also the citys lawyer.
In the last 2 weeks the cop sat across the street from the house 5 different days staring into the yard for about 30 minutes. There are three times where I saw him because he was staring at me as I was feeding and watering them, and the neighbor across the street informed me today that he’s seen him 2 other times. I would like to charge him with harassment, trespassing and property damage for both the dog and the shed, and anything else I can get him for I’m not going to stand for it. If anyone has any ideas as to what I can do or who to contact for anything, or any laws that you know of about any of this let me know please.

Help!! Haven't seen my children in almost 2 years!!?
I will break this story down as quick as possible. I got divorced 2004 of July
and of course I got a shitty lawyer that just wanted to get through the case and
the worst is he’s a man hater. Got divorced and stuck with back child support
even when I was married!!! Everyone I talked to told me I got screwed over big
time and at the beginning i was already almost 00 in the hole. I have a
divorce decree that states I have joint custody and half the decision making for
the children. Over the past 6 years I have dealt with arguing, attacks, threats,
and the calling woman like to call " Dead Beat Dad ". I use to spend every
weekend with my children till I got behind again on child support. Let’s fast
forward to now, I am in college with full aid paying for it and getting ready to
graduate plus getting my Diploma online also so yes I am making something of
myself so my children do see daddy as someone like their mom says I am " Loser".
I had a huge argument with my ex-wife a year in a half ago and I mean big but it
was over the dumbest thing ever. She called after the kids were picked up and
said why does the kids have bites on them? I stated well we had a bad summer
with fleas and I mean so bad I had to dip my dogs 2 times and clean all the bed
cloths. No big deal hey animals get fleas and I took care of it very easy but
not cheap lol. Well after that I didn’t see the kids and I said Ill wait and let
her cool down so at least we can try to talk it out but nothing. I would call
and she changed her telephone number, I talked to my lawyer and this ass had the
nerve to tell me she could hold them from me if I was in the rears of child
support and I stated No she can’t and it’s not ok for 2 wrongs to make it right.
Also I have a court order stating they see me every other weekend. I will admit
over the past 6 years I haven’t done my best by not being able to let her back
me down. Now let’s look at this year, My fiance and me are moving into our own
home on land so no rent (Yay!!) thanks to my parents for saying that they wanna
help me get back on my feet so I am not beat down by child support and get my
rears paid off. Then I got a job im starting soon so the child support will be
regular every month and I am extremely happy about that. I do want to note no
matter what MONEY doesn’t make you a good father and I am sick what people say
well if your behind then your a dead beat dad. NO!!! I love my children so much
and it hurts me every single day that I let this woman tell my children all
these lies on how im a bum, looser, dead beat dad and make fun of my fiance to
my kids!! I know I have made mistakes, Hey were are all human and make them so I
am being responsible and owning up and paying because I want to take care of my
children.
Now some questions and please do respond on how to proceed:
1. I found out that in Missouri were I live its a state law that I can put child
support on hold, not stop so she don’t get no payments till I start to have
access to my children. Yes I am paying child support now. How do I file this and
do I need a lawyer?
2. This woman has done nothing but alienated me from my children. What can I do
to stop her from acting like God and those are only her kids? Remember I have
joint custody and equal rights to everything she does but they just live with
her. What can I do? I heard I should take her back to court for incontemp of
court for breaking the court order numerous of times.
3. She has also alienated me from their school and poisoned the principle that
she is the only guardian. I have repeatedly talked to this person and everytime
she says I have to call your ex first before I can talk to you about anything as
I show her the decree and I have every right and no need for my ex’s consent.
What can I do about this? Please help!!
4. And 4, As I stated we all make mistakes and wow 1 1/2 years is too long from
my babies. I want them back but everytime I do something I hit a dam road
block!! Please someone or alot of people guide me through what you have done in
these situations.

I do know I went back to the same crappy lawyer and I am in the process of researching a better one that works for me and not for them self. I just wanted to say also that please don’t Man bash here. I want honest responses and not let’s feel sorry for the Mom that is always innocent. Again I see in one answer that me being the guy just because i got behind I am the bad person. I guess life is worth money in some peoples eyes but its not in mine. Respond with what to do and not what I am currently doing because I have a court order with joint.
