Can you become a cop with a DWI on your record?
I heard that it completly comes off your record after ten years, is it still possible to become a cop though? My lawyer even told me, that if I play my cards right, that my DWI won’t even show up on my record. And, if it does, i could be completly off in two years. I have a hook up with a lawyer. ;)
What to say for a DWI in new jersey?
I got a DWI a few days ago in new jersey. I have to be in court for tomorrow. My boss is helping me get his lawyer to take my case. I was told that tomorrow is basically the arraignment and the actual case will be at a later date. I was told not to plead guilty to anything and tell the judge "My lawyer would like to enter the plea on my behalf." Does this sound like the correct thing to say?
What will happen to my boyfriend with his DWI charges?
Last night, my boyfriend was arrested for DWI. His charges are DWI, reckless driving, open container, and indicated impairment. He was speeding, that was the reckless driving..and he had two beers with a blood alcohol level of 2.1. He was taken to jail last night and got a bail bondsman to release him this morning. I want to know what the judge will most likely decide and if he’s going to go to jail. What type of lawyer should he get? I’m really worried =(
This all happened in Rio Rancho, NM.

I got arrested for DWI in NYC… can I fire my court appointed lawyer and represent myself? is it a good idea?
I blew a .142 …this is my first trouble with the law.
I have been to court four times since my arraignment. my court appointed lawyer only showed up twice out of those four times (the other two times she had someone "cover"). One of the times she did show up she did not file whatever it was she supposed to file in time- neither the court nor the DA recieved the papers and it was adjourned yet again. She has me holding out for a plea bargain… we are hoping to be offered a charge of "driving while impaired." when she did show up she never began any discussion with the DA or judge about a plea. I think she is incompetent and I am considering firing her and representing myself. I believe doing so will allow me to speak directly to the DA. Also, I was thinking that perhaps the prospect of going forward with a case when the defendant was representing themself would be such a headache for the DA that they would have extra incentive to offer a deal. Any informed opinions?
DWI question about driving?
What happens when you get one DWI? (apart from attorney fees, etc)
I feel like some people lose their license, others have to pay more for a special license, and some have to blow into a breathalyzer ever time they get in their car.
What gives?
In Texas…
DWI ARREST BUT WAS NOT DRIVING?
My son was arrested for DWI after an officer found him accidentally asleep behind the wheel of his car waiting for a relative to open an apt. complex entrance gate. The officer walked up to the car, found him napping, detected a smell of alcohol and arrested him for DWI. We have an attorney who initially suggested taking it to trial because he was not driving and was on private property. But, now the attorney feels we should accept a plea bargain. Are there any suggestions how best this should be resolved; trial or plea bargain?
I got a dwi in my parents car how can they avoid getting whiskey plates?
I got a dwi in minnesota. I was driving my parents car. I blew a .20. I was told by the police officer and a lawyer that they would have to get whiskey plates even though they are not responsible. How can they avoid this? if there any websites that would have additional information on this specific issue, or a form they can fill out to repeal this?
Son got a DWI, what happens when he goes to court?
He is 19, offended in MN. Was .067 but MN has a "Not A Drop Law" for minors, so it is considered a DWI. He goes to court in a couple of weeks. Has not gotten an attorney, because he has no $. When he goes to court, does he just plead guilty? Will he be thrown in jail because he does not have $ for a fine? Does anyone know?
