Im 17 year old and i was in an accident the other day. I was waiting at the stop sign so that I could go across an intersection. I waited for a while for the cars on the other side to go by and Iook on my side to see if anything else was coming. When I did not see any headlights apporaching and the cars that was parked blocked my view I proceeded into the intersection. A woman hit me in the middle of the intersection on my driver door and claimed that I ran the stop sign. I never run a stop sign and never got a ticket and no tickets was issued at the scene. The woman driving was pregnant and it was her second accident that week. I’m not entirely sure if the accident was in my fault or hers but I did not get in the ambulance nor did I stay in the car I checked to see if the people were alright and called my mom. Now the question is if the lawyers hear both of our cases would I be in the wrong for not being able to see her or would she be in the wrong for not having controll of her car? Also because she didn’t hit my light or my tire but directly in my door does that mean I will not be able to get my car fixed? Also I have liable insurance and the woman had full coverage so someone please tell me if this will work out or prepare for the WORST?!?! Oh an should I sue her cuz my mom says I should?? plz help me

I only had liability (never again) and my totalled car had a value of $13000. However, the insured was only covered for up to $10k, shorting me $3k. Hi there, I am about to tell you the whole store. So brace yourself.
About 2 1/2 months ago my Husband was involved in a car accident.

1. He was going though an intersection with a green light, when from the other side someone came at about 70 mph and ran a red light and rammed into the passenger side of our car. Keep in mind this is in an area where the posted speed limit is 40.

2. We don’t believe there were any witnesses. But to be honest with you the Cops seemed very bious. And were super nice to them, and didn’t seem to believe us. It was a very weird situation.
Those people are lying and saying that they had the green light.

3. Those people were going so fast, that their luxury large SUV actually flipped upside down.

4. They were all dressed up as if they were going clubbin, I think they were drunk. However the cops did not give them a sobriety test or anything.

5. This accident took place in Los Angeles, which means police reports can take forever. The report has yet to come in.
We gave our statement to our insurance company, however they can not make a decision because they don’t have the police report. Which I think won’t help us anyway, since they were total jerks, and there was no witnesses.

6. The other party has gotten a lawyer and will not give my insurance company a statement. Basically they are not talking, and are already filing soft tissue damage.
Their car was totaled as-well.

7. I am deeply concerned, because my full coverage was totally BS! We only have 5,000 liability property coverage. So if this God Forbid, ends up being blamed on us, we would have to fork out the rest of the $ . Keep in mind they have a luxury new large suv.

8. My question is, should I get a lawyer?
Do you think any of them will take our case?
You see we are no those kinda people to fork up bogus medical bills to pretend like we are sick.
So I don’t know if our case is even valuable to a lawyer.

Your advices would really help us.
Please pray for us, as these people we got in an accident with seem very ruthless. I’ll tell you, the guy actually left his wife hanging upside down in the car! It seemed like he didn’t even care about her.
Please tell me what I should do.

Our car, which was totaled, had a value around $3800 (so we sure didn’t have full coverage) and by the time you add the hospital bill, well, you go over $5000 which is the maximum we could have sued for in small court. She has lost her job since then, so we are just trying to get back on our feet here. What should I do. Was our lawyers’ policy of dropping the case justified and ethical? Should we hire another lawyer? Should we sue the other owner in a different kind of court ? Is there anyway we can keep the med. bills from hitting us while we take care of all this ? Also, this is happening in the state of Texas.
