Can a lender keep the rest of the insurance claim money after the repairs are made?
We have a sinkhole and the lender wants us to do one of two things:
A: apply all the money to our mortgage loan and dont’t fix the house
B: fix the house and apply the rest of the money to the loan
Can they make us apply that to the loan? We really wanted to fix the house and have the rest just to pad our pockets being that we are the ones who hired a lawyer to get the insurance company to pay, not them. Please I need some insight, maybe someone who has been through something like this.

I got into an accident. the man driving behind me hit me going about 30 mph. He has admitted fault to me and to his insurance. I have a pre-existing injury and it has made it so much worse. Now I am worried that I need to talk to a lawyer before I go forward! I feel that, while I’m not interested in ruining this guy who hit me, or taking him to court for some huge settlement beyond his insurance limit, I am interested in being fairly treated. There are hospital bills to think of, and I am in constant pain now. I am kind of afraid about the whole thing.Two extra things– I had moved from another state and didn’t realize my registration had run out. I was un-registered at the time of accident.(I immediately registered and inspected it before driving it again!)And, I was so out of it when it happened that I didn’t call the cops!Then I almost passed out at work. My husband took me to the ER and nothing broken.I saw my Dr. before/after the accident and he said 2-6 months to heal.Answers?

I received an insurance card and verified benefits, so I didn’t think to check it out. Now they won’t pay because I wasn’t eligible for crew insurance, but I was told to sign up for it and never went to a benefits class. What Percentage %%% Should A Lawyer Get For A House Insurance Claim Rep.?
I have a insurance claim that is in dispute so I hired a lawyer. Not sure what percentage is good…I think I’m being charged a little bit much. How much should a lawyer charge for a house insurance claim help…under oath statement and all that stuff.?
Also what should I expect from my lawyer in terms of representing me what are his duties so I know he is doing his job properly.

I live in MI and he is currently asking for 1/3 . Company has not sent out any money. Wants Oath statment. I’m sooo confused. I wish I would have stayed in my apartment.
At first they said they thought it was suspicious, there was an investigation. Its been over a month now and that is the last I heard about it. I have not revecied any money form the insurance company and am paying both mortgage and aparment plus both mantience expences. It is getting expensive. I’m not sure my lawyer is doing his job.
