The doctors won't take care of my mother (b/c her drug use caused the problems?)…lawyer?
My mother is very sick: bad liver, cyst in her pancreas- renders her unable to eat, had 2 strokes while under medical care, semi-incoherent. Doctors send her home again & again while barely able to walk, w/ a feeding tube in her stomach, minimal instructions to my sister. She’s been out of the hosp. almost a week, and the visiting nursedidn’t come for the first couple days. Today, nurse insisted that sister rush my mother to hospital b/c she’s severely dehydrated. The feeding tube pump has NEVER worked, and he thinks the tube is twisted (or maybe clogged) inside her. She hasn’t been able to keep anything down b/c of vomiting.
Cyst surgery’s been put off since spring, doctors’ explanation: trying to book a time in the OR. My sister has brought her to 3 different hospitals, and received shody care all around. Many nurses are shocked by her care.
Mother is on Medical, most probs b/c of long term drug/alchohol abuse.
Can a lawyer force/scare them to treat her? Find affordable lawyer?
She’s stopped doing the drugs now. She doesn’t have the ability anymore. She’s barely ambulatory, she doesn’t have enough sense to concoct a plot to get to the drugs, she doesn’t have any money. If she was able, I’m sure she’d still be getting them, but she CAN’T.
My sister and I feel like the doctors are judging her b/c of how she got that way. They frequently say "this is from drinking" and such comments – as if we all don’t know. On top of that, she has a state welfare ‘insurance’.
My sister can’t afford a lawyer, she’s doing all she can to take care of her fam. and my mother. would legal aid do this? Would a lawyer write a letter for a small or no fee?

I was on Judge Joe Brown show, and i want to sue them for defamation of character but dont know how to get started. I live in VA but it was taped last month in LA. The jist of my case is that they said on national TV that i have a manslaughter charge, which is totally false. I do not have any such charge nor have i ever been accused of anything of the sort. This is not for me, but, for my brother. When he completes a job application, he answers yes to the question, Have you ever been convicted of a crime? (He has been turned down for many jobs) He does not want to lie to any job prospect. If he does check no to the question. have you ever been convicted of a crime, and the company does a background check, he would probably get fired for lying. This record is for drugs.

On the 1st of this month I was envolved in a fender bender and my insurance company will not pay for the damages. I was fully covered when this accured but they are making up excuses on why I can’t file the claim. Is there a lawyer in Illinios that can take my case?
If anyone arrested with drugs, even a small amount, had to spend 2 years in jail….?
no exceptions for anyone… would:
a. drug use go down
b. drugs be legalized because of the outcry from middle and upper class mothers, fathers and children having to go to jail at the same rate as the poor people who can’t afford a good lawyer.
Attorney accepted my case–other insurance wouldn’t accept culpability–stated 70% my fault–lawyer withdrew!?
My lawyer dropped my case as she thought it was a "lost" case–the other driver’s insurance had only accepted 30% fault–70% corresponding to me (car accident happened in April 2008). Now, in December 2008 I come to find that the other driver was found 100% liable–at fault, after review from my insurance & arbitration. So now, his insurance is trying to settle with me directly, since I have no lawyer as she had dropped my supposed "lost"case.
We were on a contingency agreement–she got no money if I did not win. Since she dropped my case, but it was a "win-win" case, can I do anything or can she do anything to me? I had to basically start over as she abandoned my case. My insurance put up a much better fight than her (whoop whoop..shout out to Farmer’s Insurance lol)
I guess I’m just a little irritated with the fact that the attorney had accepted my case, didn’t even work hard enough to gather all the facts and really review my case, just went by the other’s driver’s insurance answer/proposal.
This same lawyer just represented my mom’s case which settled, so should I let her know I won the case after all without her help? What would I benefit?

My daughter is doing meth while pregnant & I want to know if baby will be tested when born for drugs.?
My 24 yr old daughter is hooked on crank. She already lost her 7yr old to CPS who put her in fostercare, then gave to her dad who she never saw since he was 1 because he beat my daughter.he’s the one who got my girl started on crank at 16. I raised grandchild 1st 2 years, but court says dad has right to her because now he test no meth in body, only pot and they say in calif that’s something they will work with him on. He just wanted out of paying child support. Now she is 7 months preg w/another baby and says oh baby is fine. But I think baby will test with crank in its system and CPS will take it too. SHe can’t take care of her self, I know that, but I am scared they put baby in foster care instead of giving to me to take care of. The CPS worker very mean and I think maybe I should get lawyer? Don’t know what to do, but want to know if baby will be born with drugs in system? This baby has dad in jail already for drugs too. My daughter trying to go to rehab, but none take CA Medical.
