Attorney accepted my case–other insurance wouldnt accept culpability–stated 70% my fault–lawyer withdrew!?
My lawyer dropped my case as she thought it was a "lost" case–the other driver’s insurance had only accepted 30% fault–70% corresponding to me (car accident happened in April 2008). Now, in December 2008 I come to find that the other driver was found 100% liable–at fault, after review from my insurance & arbitration. So now, his insurance is trying to settle with me directly, since I have no lawyer as she had dropped my supposed "lost"case.
We were on a contingency agreement–she got no money if I did not win. Since she dropped my case, but it was a "win-win" case, can I do anything or can she do anything to me? I had to basically start over as she abandoned my case. My insurance put up a much better fight than her (whoop whoop..shout out to Farmer’s Insurance lol)
I guess I’m just a little irritated with the fact that the attorney had accepted my case, didn’t even work hard enough to gather all the facts and really review my case, just went by the other’s driver’s insurance answer/proposal.
This same lawyer just represented my mom’s case which settled, so should I let her know I won the case after all without her help? What would I benefit?

Insurance company margins are 4% in a good year, meaning even a non-profit gov’t program would save 4% at most….drug companies are scrapping the huge risks associated with research and development of new drugs due to heavy-handed price controls that will reduce future innovations and healthcare breakthroughs….and why should doctors be slaves to the country….WHY NOT STOP DARN LAWYERS FROM GARNISHING A MILLION DOLLAR+ FEE!!!

How can I find a lawyer that was in a case in 2000, in Houston?

When you go to traffic court, why do they make you plead your case in front of all these strangers?
That makes me a little uncomfortable everyone has to sit in the same room and tell the judge what they’ve done so everyone can hear? Isn’t there some kind of privacy law for this? I went to court once for bumping into some womans rear end of the car and other people were in there for doing drugs with their lawyers by their sides. If you ask me, the two traffic incidents’ are nothing alike and plus, I really don’t want everyone else knowing my business!

I am not the parent! My boyfriend hasnt sen his son in almost 4 or 5 years and he is a great father to the 4 kids we have between us. We dont have money to pay a lawyer. We have never used drugs. more on me. I have been out of work this time for 36 months. The work comp company has changed adjusters on me 3 times. The first one denied treatment, harassed me, lied about a treatment plan, didnt follow through with a treatment plan etc. The 2nd one was only there about a month when the company moved to a new location. This 3rd one is the one who my lawyer feels sorry for as she was just "thrown in" to everything. We had a mediation on her first week back from training. She has insisted that i go do a fuctional cap. test. and I have heard nothing.
